Abrasivity Testing of Test Dentifrice Compared with Standard Dentifrices Using Manual Toothbrushes at Indiana University School of Dentistry.

 

Purpose

To evaluate the abrasivity of the test dentifrice when used with standard manual toothbrushes; to compare the abrasivity of the test dentifrice to that of other brands.

 

Final Results

All of the results of dentin abrasivity are well below the maximum limit of 250, and are in the lower range of abrasivity of those on the US and world markets. This study’s purpose was to compare surface roughness (RA) and depth loss (DL) caused from brushing with dentifrice on porcelain and composites.
